One of the growing threads of this blog, is the Zionist campaign against free speech, which has targeted academics, educators, students and union members who dare to speak out against Israeli apartheid and the genocide of the Palestinian people. In many cases people lose their jobs or their status within a community. In other cases, pressure and clear heads prevail (Columbia and Barnard University for example) and investigations show no wrong doing, but the stress and the chilling effect of these well funded, well orchestrated campaigns can be overwhelming.
But by far the most serious of all these campaigns is the one that has been launched against Professor Sami Al-Arian, who was arrested on a plethora of charges related to terrorism, and despite being found not-guilty by jury trial, he remains in prison.
